Q) How do I get to your office?
A) We will come and Collect you FREE OF CHARGE from Cairns Airport!
Our office is the closest Car Hire Company to Cairns airport - simply pick up our FREEPHONE at The Virgin Terminal in Domestic Arrivals. We can also collect you from your accommodation in Downtown Cairns. 
Q) How often are your cars serviced?
A) We have a dedicated team of experienced QUALIFIED MECHANICS who religiously service our vehicle fleet EVERY 5,000km. All fluids, (water, oil, brakes, windscreen wipers) are checked regularly after each hire. We operate a Brakes and Mechanical workshop on the premises so nothing gets overlooked 
Q) Will my car be clean when I collect it?
A) All our cars are thoroughly washed & detailed inside and out after each rental to ensure you receive a clean car.
We operate on NO SMOKING policy so the car will smell nice.
Q) Can I pick my car up at one location and return it at another location?
A) All cars must be collected from our office near Cairns Airport at 422 Sheridan St and returned to the same location.
Q) Can I return my car to the airport?
A) No, but we are the closest rental office to the airport - and nearer than any hotel. Just drop your car of at our office and we will drive you to the airport. If it is after office hours, we can arrange for a taxi to drop you off.
Q) I arrive in Cairns at 4am in the morning. can I collect my car out of office hours?
A) Yes. We have a 24 hour collection service. For security reasons we cannot divulge the procedure over the internet, but just give us a call and we will be happy to arrange out of hours collection for you.
Q) I am leaving Cairns at midnight. Can I drop my car out of office hours?
A) No problem. When you pick up the car we will show you how.
Q) Do you need to be a certain age when renting a car?
A) We will accept any age of driver so long as you have a valid, current drivers license. Most other car hire companies require a young driver surcharge, or will not rent cars to under 21's.
Q) Do you provide or offer infant or child safety seats with my car rental?
A) We can arrange for baby seats and even a stroller for your child.
Q) What if my driving record is less than perfect? Will they check for DUI's etc?
A) No problem, as long as your current driving license is valid.
Q) Do rental car rates I'm given cover all of my costs?
A) The prices are all inclusive. There are no additional costs to pay.
Q) How much is the excess?
A) For under 21 year olds and provisional driving licenses the excess is $4000 and not reduceable. Over 25's excess is $2000. This means if you have an accident and it is your fault, then you can be liable to pay for the damages up to the maximum limit of your excess.
Q) Are you required to have a credit card?
A) It is easier to hire a car if you have a credit card because we can use the card as your bond or security against any damages, speeding fines and parking fines you might incur. If you don't have a credit card, we can accept a cash bond of $600.
Q) Can I rent a car with a debit card instead of a credit card?
A) Yes, you can use EFTPOS to pay for your car rental and we will accept a CASH BOND as security against damage instead of a Credit card
Q) Do you allow for unlimited mileage?
A) Yes, rental rates are for unlimited mileage.

Q) If I book the car for a week and then change my mind, can I cancel my booking?
A) Yes, but you must give us 48 hours notice if you decide you don't want the car any more.
Q) Do you charge for "additional drivers"?
A) No. The price is inclusive of all drivers, but remember the excess rate is applicable to the drivers age.
Q) Can I use my International drivers license, or do I need a special permit?
A) You can hire a car with your normal drivers license.
Q) Can you pick me up from the airport?
A) YES - No problem! Just book your car in advance by telephone or internet and let us know your arrival details.
Q) Can you pick me up from my accommodation?
A) YES OF COURSE! Telephone us with your address and we will send a car to collect you.
Q) How old are Cairns Older Car and Ute Hire cars?
A) They range from 4 to 25 years old.
Q) What happens if the car breaks down?
A) Our mission is to get you & the car back on the road immediately. If you have any problems just call us on our 24 hr telephone number & we organise RACQ roadside assistance. The most common problem is if people have forgotten to switch off the headlights or locked the keys inside the car. Then you will be charged a 'dummy fee" !! If the problem is a result of your oversight, you will be charged the RACQ callouts fee of $44 plus any extras applicable. If there is a fault with the car we will deliver you another vehicle of equivalent
Q) What is the petrol policy?
A) We operate a 'return as you found it' petrol policy. Just fill up the petrol level back to the level that you picked it up at.
Q) I have a problem with the car.
A) Please phone us & let us know. We will exchange the car for something suitable
Q) How far in advance do I need to book?
A) Generally during our busy season, & especially if you want a Station wagon or a Ute during April to December & all school holidays we advise that you book 2 weeks ahead.
Q) Will I need air conditioning?
A) Between October until April the temperatures are about 32 degrees so the answer is definitely YES!
Q) What is the weight limit I can carry in a Ute?
A) Up to a maximum of 900kg.
